A Parent’s Guide to Online Safety

As we’ve previously discussed, it’s imperative for parents to be aware of what kids are playing online, whom they’re playing with and in what manner these titles are being enjoyed – even more so as social networks, Web browser-based offerings and massively-multiplayer titles continue to gain in prominence. Thankfully, a little research and foresight is all it takes to ensure your child has a safe, fun experience, whether exploring World of Warcraft‘s sprawling fantasy environs, or enjoying more tot-friendly outings like Club Penguin, Pixie Hollow and Wizard 101. (Not to mention the huge range of equally engaging alternatives from Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon and other prominent children’s content creators.) We recently spoke with Sacramento’s ABC News 10 to offer up a few hints and tips when it comes to kids and video game safety.
