If a new Ipsos Loyalty study is any indication, America’s century-old obsession with cars is getting some stiff competition: Video games.
Based on a recent study of more than 3,000 Americans, gamers were found to be as passionate about their gaming consoles as auto buyers are about their cars.
The study was commissioned to assess the level of consumer satisfaction among ten key industries. “Gaming consoles and cars stood out from the pack,” says Tim Keiningham, global chief strategy officer at Ipsos Loyalty, in a company statement.
In fact, video game consoles edged out cars, earning an average overall satisfaction index of 8.31 out of 10, compared to cars at a close score of 8.30. Bank satisfaction was third (8.09), followed by hotels (8.02) and Web search engines (8.00), rounding off the top 5.
